The sun emits a wide spectrum of light, not all of which is visible to the human eye. Part of this spectrum, between 0.4-1000 Micrometers, is known as Infrared.
Infrared is broken up into three distinct categories; near, mid and far infrared.
Combining these three types of infrared heat leads to numerous benefits. The benefits are utilized in our saunas which are often used in the treatment of diseases and drug addictions, as well as for general therapy and well being. SunSauna® IntelliHeat™ emits FIR energy that is absorbed by human cells, causing a physical phenomenon called “resonance”. Thus instantly invigorating cells, resulting in a better blood circulation and an overall improved metabolism. IntelliHeat™ increases as more blood flow is diverted from the inner organs towards the extremities of the skin, without heightening blood pressure.
By creating an “artificial fever”, infrared heat has a positive effect on the immune system. Often misunderstood, fever is a natural healing response of the body. The function of the immune system is increased naturally during a fever, while virus and bacterial growth is slowed, weakening its hold. This helps the body ward off invading organisms. Infrared heat treatment in the early stages of a cold or flu for example has been proven to stop the disease before symptoms occur.
How do infrared saunas and traditional saunas differ?
SunSauna® provides its patented combination of Full-Spectrum light and infrared using a proprietary light box that illuminates over 10,000 LUX of natural visible light. Ask our competitors the LUX rating of their “full spectrum” devices to see what we mean.
What differentiates SunSauna® from other infrared saunas?
No, other forms of like such as standard incandescent bulbs, flourescent and even newer LED light cannot produce a brilliant white as neodymium bulbs can. This is why neodymium coated bulbs are used in greenhouses to provide the closes thing to natural sunlight available today.
What type of heat do I feel outside, when I’m in the sun?
Absolutely NOT! You will never acquire a “sunburn” from any neodymium type bulb. The bulbs produce light as it is perceived from natural sunlight, and gives a greater color rendition as well as generating a brighter, whiter light. Our bulbs do NOT produce harmful UV rays, that bulbs in tanning beds are capable of producing.
Are there any other saunas out there that offer full spectrum infrared?.
There are a lot of bold claims by many sauna manufacturers. However, one claim holds true; our patented Full-Spectrum light and IntelliHeat® infrared heaters provide a quality of visible light, near, mid and far infrared heat matched only by the sun itself. (Our saunas do NOT give off any ultra-violet rays)
